Keynote Speaker: Wanda Barfield, MD, MPH, RADM USPHS, Director of the Division of Reproductive Health in the CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion

The Race Equity Training pre-session will take place from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and will be led by Joyce James, LMSW-AP. Attendees will learn about the history of institutional racism and its current impacts on maternal and infant health outcomes. Attendees will also begin developing the language and skills needed to have conversations on equity in maternal and infant health and create effective and culturally responsive interventions. This session will set the stage for the afternoon session, and attendees are encouraged to attend both.

The Using Quality Improvement to Address Health Equity (QI Training Academy) pre-session will take place from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Attendees will learn about racial disparities; strategies and tools to identify health disparities; and to incorporate health equity strategies into quality improvement. The training will be led by:
