This webinar explores evidence-based anesthesia and recovery strategies that support maternal alertness, early skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding initiation, and lactogenesis following cesarean birth. Participants discuss multidisciplinary approaches involving obstetric, anesthesia, nursing, and lactation teams to enhance recovery and improve the breastfeeding experience for mothers and infants.

Throughout February and March, LASSO-TX (Lactation and Safe Sleep Opportunities in Texas), a hospital-based quality improvement initiative led by the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies (TCHMB), hosted its first in-person Learning Sessions across Texas. Grounded in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Breakthrough Series (BTS) Collaborative Model for Breakthrough Improvement, these sessions provide a valuable space for peer learning, where multidisciplinary hospital-based teams of health care professionals share experiences, identify challenges, and collaborate on solutions. The Learning Sessions were designed to establish a solid foundation for collaboration and support ongoing quality improvement efforts across participating hospitals.
