TCHMB Obstetrics Committee Co-Chair Application
The Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies (TCHMB) is seeking applicants for an open position on the Executive Committee as Co-Chair for the TCHMB Obstetrics Committee. The role of the TCHMB Obstetrics Committee is to support and advance the overall mission of TCHMB to improve health care quality and patient safety for Texas mothers and babies. This position is also a voting member on the TCHMB Executive Committee.

Committee Overview: The current priority of the TCHMB Obstetrics Committee is to serve as an implementation partner to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) TexasAIM quality improvement initiative. The Obstetrics Committee is currently sharing select sepsis bundle tools, shared by participating hospitals during TexasAIM learning session 2, within their Regional Advisory Council (RAC), to support RAC-level implementation and spread across hospitals. The Obstetrics Committee representatives promote TexasAIM bundle adoption, disseminate the change package resources, and reinforce the importance of teams collecting and reporting their data.
TCHMB Obstetrics Committee Co-Chair Suggested Areas of Expertise include:
Active participation within their Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and engagement with the RAC/Perinatal Care Region (PCR) Alliance.
Experience collaborating across hospitals, health systems, and regional partners to improve maternal and neonatal care.
Leadership or participation in obstetric or perinatal quality improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with the needs and challenges of hospitals across different levels of neonatal care in Texas.
Participation in DSHS TexasAIM quality improvement at the hospital level or as faculty.
Experience facilitating collaboration, discussion, and shared learning among multidisciplinary partners.
Interest in advancing statewide efforts to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
Position Term: The term of a TCHMB Co-Chair is two years, with the opportunity to serve a second two-year term if mutually agreed upon.
Role Expectations and Responsibilities:
Active attendance at quarterly TCHMB Executive Committee meetings,
Attendance at regularly scheduled Obstetrics Committee meetings, bi-monthly,
Attendance at Obstetrics Committee Leadership meetings, monthly,
Serve in the role of TexasAIM initiative faculty,
Sharing of TCHMB resources as relevant, and
Participating in other TCHMB Executive Committee meetings or events that may occur throughout the year.
